I have been training with Laz in group sessions for a few months now and they’re great fun and super motivating. We always have a laugh whilst working hard.

Having never done anything like Muay-Thai before and having a back injury I was quite nervous at first but, Laz is really encouraging and understanding. He always makes sure I’m not doing anything that could worsen my injury but, still pushes me as far as I can go which is great. That extra push always helps. I feel a lot better and I’m not in pain as often or as much as before. It’s fab!

I’ve gained confidence since training with Laz, now doing strengthening exercises I wouldn’t have done before.

I’ve got stronger and fitter. Laz changes up the sessions using different equipment and doing different exercises which keeps it enjoyable!

I joined Laz last year in his “Muay Thai Mondays” class at my gym. It’s a great introductory to the world of Muay Thai and Laz is a great teacher because of his background.

The class is really fun and suitable for all experience levels. I’ve also had a few private One-2-Ones with Laz helping me to improve my technique.

Laz is extremely approachable and always on the other end of a WhatsApp to answer any queries to do with form or diet. If you’re like myself and prefer a PT session which is mixed and a little different Laz is your guy!

I had the opportunity to participate in Muay Thai with work back in 2017, didn’t know what it was but, I went as my mate wanted to do it, I was a bit nervous but thought to screw it and jumped on the sessions.

I get to take part Wednesday evenings and thoroughly enjoy every part of it, over the years I’d like to think I’ve improved a lot and built my stamina and confidence up dramatically. I don’t think I could have done any of that if it wasn’t for the fact that I have such a terrific coach Laz Diaz; Not only is he very knowledgable and passionate about what he does it really shows in his class and I don’t think I would have improved or even stayed doing it for this long.

Laz even helped with my confidence when I took on a charity boxing fight for UWCB. He really helped with my technique, building my stamina, helping with some great movements and drills. Executing a good solid hook is definitely one of my favourite techniques.

Wednesdays quickly became my favourite day of the week as I had something that I can honestly say I looked forward to de-stress and unwind, certainly helps Laz has a wicked sense of humour, giving us some funny nickname, (probably to cover the fact he can’t remember their actual name hahaha)

I certainly feel a lot better about myself and feel I’m in pretty decent shape and that’s all down to Laz. I would certainly recommend Laz as a coach he can get you results and keep you motivated throughout his classes.

Thank you Laz for all your help and for sticking with me throughout, top man!

So I joined Laz for his Monday evenings for Kickboxing & Muay Thai sessions within Fitness First Gym St Albans. Even though I'm knocking on in the age department and maybe a little less fitter than most in the class I thoroughly enjoy the sessions.

Laz puts us through our paces but, understands if we need a breather. The class consists of both younger/older guys and girls, EVERYONE gets on really well.

Amongst the serious training we do fit in a giggle or two just to break it up, the classes can be hard work but in return very rewarding. Laz as a teacher is top of the class, his many years of experience shows in every session. You can always put forward any ideas you may have on personal training ideas, especially if you're slacking in any areas.

Also at the end of the year, Laz will arrange a Christmas get together for all his students, this is a great booster for everyone to have time out and share a few drinks together. I myself have been out of training for a while, but as soon as all this lockdown gets lifted I shall surely return to Laz's Monday evening classes, can't wait!

Laz always starts his class by having a one to one with who ever is attending to find out how people's training is going and to ask about inquires / problems/diet advice.

Then the fun begins with a hard warm-up combined with a little HIIT workout included, finished off with a number of different stretches.

Everyone partners up and does 4 rounds each of Muay Thai Boxing. Each round starts with ten kicks either side then a number of combos which Laz demos beforehand.

Laz is great at working the room and watching everyone. He will come over and talk to people about their techniques during the class and work with them giving all his students is attention.

To finish off this full-body work out Laz always makes sure that everyone stretches out well for the last 10 mins.

I started training with Laz with my daughter who had trained with him before. As a senior citizen ( 72 yrs old) I thought it would be difficult for me to do the sessions but, when you get there Laz makes you feel comfortable, confident and if I’m honest I thoroughly enjoy training with him every session.

The sessions are different every week which makes it more enjoyable.

Laz is a great guy who we can have a good laugh with while training. He is always helpful in explaining techniques and takes time to train you with every exercise. Nothing is too much trouble.

I can't wait for the lockdown to end and his studio to open as I miss the training session and the company!

I started training with Laz almost a year and a half ago after suffering some health issues that meant I had trouble walking and balancing as well as dropping lots of weight in a short space of time. Laz was really supportive and made me feel comfortable and helped me work through my difficulties. I started gaining confidence and motivation back as I was seeing results in the way I looked as well.

The first set of sessions I did with Laz I did alongside my friend Carly, the sessions were really enjoyable and we could both see our progress each week. I have been training with Laz and my dad, who is 71, for the last few weeks!

Each week I feel great after our sessions; I sleep better, eat better, look better, and notice that I am more focused and motivated in other areas of my day to day life.

Laz has been tailoring our workouts for us which has been great..both myself and my dad love the sessions! Laz has been and continues to be a great support.

“Mobility transformation”

I’m 42 years old and been around the block with PT’s over the years. But before I start, let’s be really clear…..

Laz brings a different dimension to it all.

I’ve had the best fun and made phenomenal progress on the pads in a short time. This guy is like a Kung Fu master and within 4 weeks, my Cardio was on point, speed was so much quicker, I was hitting harder/cleaner and I learned to anticipate what was coming at me next; that is down to the consistency in Laz’ style. I loved it - especially the added bonus of the Laz sound effect.

The way Laz helped me focus my mind on Nutrition was incredible. He explained to me for the first time ever, in real simple terms how to macro count and balance my food and it was easy to adopt this lifestyle change in my hectic lifestyle. This alone helped me with thinking clearer, better energy levels and I could also see it on my pad work with the speed and power. Net result: a decrease in body fat, a sharper mind, and I generally felt so much better.

Finally, and probably the biggest improvement in me, is my flexibility. Laz helped me increase the power in my Squatting by over 20% by helping me with my back posture and flexibility in the back and upper body. He uses techniques that seem odd at first (broomsticks!!) but has a huge impact on the various aspects of my training.

I’ve only scratched the surface with what I can learn from Laz. I’m looking forward to seeing what I can achieve in the medium term and I love the challenge he sets me week in week out.

I leave his studio on a real high and cant wait to get back in there and raising the bar higher. Strength, Cardio, flexibility and Nutrition all on point – Thanks Sensei!

Laz is an amazing coach. I attend his private sessions with two other ladies and he caters the workouts to all of our needs.

We have so much fun and get a great workout at the same time. He mixes circuit training with pad work so it varies every week. I can’t wait for my next session.

I really enjoy Laz’s class every week. It’s hard work and I have improved a lot since I have been going there. There is always a fun atmosphere at the class because of the great group we have there. Everyone is always really friendly and welcoming to the new starters coming along to train too. Laz puts together fun combinations for us to complete on the pads at a high intensity which is always challenging.

The sessions have a great balance of fun and hard work.

I've trained with Laz for over 2 years now in the group class sessions and I've noticed definite improvements in my technique.

Laz makes sure he keeps improving himself so he can improve others and every class session he seems to have new knowledge about physical fitness and new discoveries. It's nice to know the guy training you is always keeping up with the newest stuff around. He's never gotten annoyed or seemed uninterested in what we are practicing even though I'm sure he has done it 1 million times. I always feel like I've achieved something each session and walk away feeling like I have actually worked.
