Why Its Essential To Have a Personal Trainer

You need a trainer in your life for advice, guidance and support. To navigate you along your journey and keep you motivated and focused throughout each of the stages of the process. They will asses your anatomy, movement, food/liquids you regularly consume and your health history. Monitor your exercise movements, mobility, body composition, progression. Observe each individual exercise that you execute making sure your techniques are safe, correct, effective and to assure you are safe and capable to carry out the specific training program I design and customise for you to proceed within your own time. I will plan and balance your sessions to fit into your lifestyle schedule providing you with the relevant time you need to recover in between sessions. That way I can ensure we are always increasing your overall performance — including muscle mass percentage, decreasing in body weight ie body fat percentage and improving your physical looks and health week by week working towards that leaner, happier physique. I’m a results based coach and i hold all my clients accountable to their individual weekly/monthly targets securing them closer to achieving their goals. 

Then there is the nutrition side of the journey that work hand in hand. Chances are you’ll also need a trainer to help guide with your food choices that will inevitably replenish and recover your body that will in turn ultimately get you the body transformation and healthy feeling you’re looking to achieve for whatever your WHY and personal reasons are. You might not understand or know what foods or portion sizes are essential for you to progress. We are individually unique from one another and we do not all eat the same foods due to allergy, health and religious reasons. You could be a vegan or vegetarian or simply just be a really fussy eater and hate the taste of a lot of food options. These examples can put a massive brick wall in front of your goals if you haven't the knowledge in nutrition. My point is that we are all human and it is mandatory we consume the correct balance of certain vitamins and minerals through our daily consumption of food sources, containing a high nutritional value supplying good quality fats, carbohydrates and proteins. These are also known as macro and micronutrients. If your coach can nail both training and nutrition along with all other necessities we will scale towards success. This is why I consider and justify myself and my work as essential to all clients.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET READY FOR A HOLIDAY:

When it comes to the most popular time of the year when the majority want to start losing a few pounds. It’s normally that back end of the Easter holiday weekend period. It’s common that most people have been carrying a bit of extra weight since the build up to Christmas. Now they’re thinking enough is enough and that they’d like to be more comfortable and confident in their summer outfits during those hot sunny days and warm evenings at social events - garden parties, barbecues, festivals, sea side and country road trips and those summer holidays booked in. Most leave it until it’s to late and want a quick fix resulting to some sort of “fad diet” that isn’t enjoyable in the slightest and definitely not sustainable and from a fitness professionals opinion not the greatest of strategies if I must say myself. The aim is to lean out gradually, not becoming to skinny over a ridiculously short period of time. I have seen various versions of these fad diet calorie deficit approaches year in year out. The worse thing about them is losing a tonne of muscle mass which can lead to weakening your connective tissues - meaning you can be susceptible to nasty injuries. It can lower your immune system leading you more vulnerable to catching viruses, colds, flu, stomach bugs, not to mention suffering with sweet tooth and junk food cravings constantly with no counteractive ideas or game plan that can help, guide and prepare you for those moments of temptation.

In a lot of cases most give in and end up going on a binge eating spree for days leading to weeks and slipping back into old bad habits. Eventually becoming heavier than before they were in the first place. This alone will cost you the price of your time putting it all right, getting your gut health back on point, mindset back on track, both the mental and physical part will need resetting. And now what, before you know it, its only two weeks until you're getting on the plane for that holiday!

Alternatively there is a much better way to work towards this weight-loss journey in time for the deadline! For example, firstly get your current body composition measurements. From those stats get to work on some mathematical calculations and set yourself a realistic plan over the 6, 12, or 24 weeks in advance depending on the period of time you’ve set in place. Prior to all of this you must record a daily/weekly diary listed with times and dates for a minimum of 2 weeks including all training sessions, food/drink consumption and general activity - walking, working, playing with your kids, basically all of your movements combined. Also everything you consume on a daily basis both food and liquids to absolute detail. If you’re serious enough after reading that little bit of information you can take those simple steps yourself. Invest your time researching, and have a good go at it. Alternatively you could hire a fitness professional to design a program tailored specifically for you with weekly check-ins holding you accountable. That way you really can exceed your goals and learn from the experience taking a more suitable and efficient approach with a well balanced plan of action.


MINDSET IS EVERYTHING:

The power of mindset depends on your end vision, your purpose, keeping your eyes on the prize. I have found that it’s the best way to keep you driven and on track in almost every situation in life. Yes you’re going to have bad days and yes this is why motivation is not enough alone. The vision gives you a purpose and your purpose shall power your drive. Since starting Martial Arts disciplines combined with training, nutrition, health, fitness and wellbeing. The whole package that comes with being an athlete has always unconsciously acquired me with a clear end vision. Make no mistake that vision can and will change as you evolve. You’ll mature bringing you closer to that vision accumulating goals whilst gaining invaluable experiences that in turn set you up for the next level of achievement that you desire.
